With the continuous advancement of renewable energy technology,
solar street lights are increasingly used around the world. At the Muslim Leisure Park (Taman Muslim Bandung) in Bandung, Indonesia, the installation and use of solar street lights not only improved the lighting level of the park, but also significantly improved the leisure experience of residents and injected new vitality into the sustainable development of the city.
Project Background
Muslim Leisure Park is an important public leisure place in Bandung, attracting a large number of citizens and tourists every day for walking, exercise and socializing. However, the park once faced the problem of insufficient lighting at night, causing some areas to become dim at night, affecting citizens’ sense of security and activity experience. To improve this situation, the Bandung City Government decided to install
solar outdoor lights in the park as part of improving infrastructure.

Installation and Implementation
The installation project uses energy-efficient solar street lights equipped with high-conversion efficiency solar panels and long-life lithium battery systems. These
street lights can not only absorb sunlight and store electricity during the day but also provide high-brightness LED lighting at night. At the same time, the lamps are equipped with an intelligent control system that can automatically adjust the brightness according to light intensity and pedestrian flow, further improving energy efficiency.
The installation process went very smoothly. Since
solar led street lights do not require laying cables, the damage to the park environment caused by construction was greatly reduced. In addition, the entire project was completed within one month, with a total of 150 street lights installed, covering the park’s main passages and activity areas.
Evaluation of usage effect
1. Improve nighttime safety After the installation of
solar road lights, the nighttime lighting conditions of the park have been significantly improved, and citizens can carry out activities at night with peace of mind. The expansion of the lighting range and the improvement of brightness effectively reduce the safety hazards caused by poor visibility.
2. Promoting nighttime activities The new streetlight system has attracted more citizens to come to the park for walking and exercise at night, and the overall flow of people to the park has increased significantly. This not only enriches the leisure life of citizens, but also brings more economic benefits to surrounding businesses.

3. Energy saving and environmental protection: Due to the use of solar power supply, the project saves a lot of electricity consumption every year and reduces carbon emissions. Preliminary statistics show that these street lights can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 20 tons each year, making an important contribution to Bandung’s green development goals.
4. Low maintenance cost The maintenance requirements of solar street lights are relatively low. Their durability and self-sufficient energy supply mode greatly reduce the later maintenance costs.
Resident feedback
Since the street lights were installed, residents and visitors of the Muslim Leisure Park have spoken highly of their effectiveness. A local resident said: “It feels safer to walk here at night now. The lights are bright and the whole park looks more beautiful.”

Future prospects
The successful application of this solar street light project in the Muslim Leisure Park provides an important reference for the energy transformation of other public facilities in Bandung. In the future, the Bandung City Government plans to promote solar street lights in more parks and roads to further promote the application of renewable energy.
The installation and use of solar street lights in the Muslim Leisure Park in Bandung, Indonesia, not only solves the problem of night lighting, but also brings multiple benefits to society, economy and environment. This case demonstrates the great potential of solar energy technology in urban sustainable development and also provides valuable experience for other cities.
